Ice Skating FAQs
-
How many ice skating sessions are there each day? Do I need to reserve a spot?We have 45 minute sessions throughout each evening. Number of sessions and times of sessions vary by date. Ice is cleaned between every session. We do recommend purchasing your Ice Skating session online as soon as possible to reserve your session. Sessions are limited and may sell out!
-
Can I bring my own skates?Yes! You are welcome to bring your own skates if you choose!
-
Do I need socks (and gloves)?Socks are mandatory. If you forget your socks, we do have some available for purchase! While gloves are not mandatory it is cold out on the ice and gloves may make it a more comfortable experience.
-
Is a consent form or waiver required?Yes! Every person that wants to be up on the ice rink deck (regardless of whether or not they will be skating), must sign the Adult & Parental Consent Release of Waiver of Liability form. For individuals under 18, a parent or guardian must be present and sign the waiver release.
-
Do you offer a "Skate Aid"?"Yes! We have "Tommy" and "Bobby" skate aids for use. A Bobby is a seal-shaped skate aid, like a mini-shopping cart or stroller. A child or adult can push it in front of them to help them balance. A small child can also sit on the front of the Bobby while the adult pushes the Bobby. A Tommy is a reindeer-shaped skate aid that can be pushed. They are available for rent per session on a first come, first served basis.
-
If my child sits on the Bobby, does he or she still need to purchase an ice skating ticket?"Yes. Every guest who enters the skating rink needs an ice skating ticket and must be wearing ice skates.
-
Is there an age or height limit required to enter the ice skating rink?Skaters must be able to wear ice skates, and it is recommended that they be able to walk unassisted. Our smallest ice skate size is a YOUTH 8, which typically translates into a YOUTH 9 shoe size.
-
Is it real ice? Is it cold?Yes! It is real ice and it will be as cold as any skating rink. However, the skating rink is outdoors. Long sleeves, pants, and gloves are recommended for safety.
-
What if it rains?Ice Skating is rain or shine. Please note that skaters will get wet when it is raining, so we suggest bringing a change of clothes for afterwards. Ice Rink may shut down in the instance of inclement weather, such as lightening. Tickets are non-refundable.
-
What should I wear?It is recommended that the following safety equipment and clothing be worn while skating: long pants, long-sleeved shirts, gloves, and helmets. Helmets are recommended for smaller children, but are not required. Helmets are available at a no additional fee for any guests requesting head protection.
-
Where can I leave my valuables? We recommend leaving valuables in your vehicle or with a family member who is not skating.
-
Do you have wide size skates? All rental ice skates come in standard sizing. If you are in need of a wide skate, we recommend sizing up and bringing an extra pair of socks.
-
Are there any other restrictions in participating in the Ice Skating Session? To ensure the safety of our guests, participants may NOT be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, when entering the Ice Arena. Santa’s Wonderland reserves the right to refuse entry into the Ice Arena.
