Role

The Illuminations Ice Arena is a centerpiece of Santa’s Wonderland, and we need an Ice Technician to maintain its pristine condition. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, smooth, and high-quality skating experience for guests.

As an Ice Technician, you will:

• Perform daily ice maintenance and resurfacing to ensure optimal ice conditions

• Maintain all Ice America equipment, including the ice resurfacer, skates, skate aids, and chillers

• Inspect and repair the ice surface, addressing cracks, holes, and debris

• Keep the rink clear of leaves, snow buildup, and other obstructions

• Sanitize high-touch areas and properly clean and maintain skates

• Support a seamless skating experience by assisting with skate sharpening and mechanical upkeep

Shifts will vary daily, so flexibility is essential!

Essential Job Duties

• Ensure Top-Quality Ice Conditions: Monitor and maintain ice quality throughout the day and night, addressing any surface issues immediately.

• Operate and Maintain Equipment: Safely use and maintain ice resurfacing machines, skate sharpeners, and all rink-related tools.

• Ensure Safety and Cleanliness: Keep high-touch areas sanitized and all equipment in proper working order.

• Exemplify Christmas Hospitality: Create magical moments with outstanding guest interaction and service.

• Provide Excellent Guest Service: Answer questions, assist with park information, and prioritize guest satisfaction.

• Enforce the Guest Contract: Ensure that rink resurfacing is completed according to Ice Session timeline and schedule.

• Clock-In Accuracy: Report to work on time, regularly check and approve your timecard.

• Maintain a Clean, Tidy Workstation: Keep your area spotless and well-organized to reflect the high standards of Santa’s Wonderland.

• Prioritize Safety and Security: Stay alert to prevent hazards, recognize safety risks, and follow safety protocols.

• Attend Mandatory Trainings and Graduations: Participate in Santa’s Wonderland University (SWU) and park-wide training events.

• Park Policies: Must adhere to and follow all park policies and rules.

What We’re Looking For

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Experience: Prior experience with ice maintenance and resurfacing is required.

• Technical Skills: Knowledge of skate sharpening and mechanical repairs is necessary.

• Preferred Knowledge: Background in refrigeration and carpentry is a plus.

Role

Rides Operators help bring the magic of Santa’s Wonderland to life by safely and efficiently operating our mechanical rides like our Buckin’ Bulls, our Rowdy Reindeer, and the West Pole Express Train. This role requires attentiveness to safety, excellent guest interaction skills, and the ability to adapt between ride types as needed. Our operators must have at least 5 years of vehicle driving experience. Your scheduled shifts WILL vary daily, so flexibility is key!

Essential Job Duties

• Control Ride Experience: Safely operate the mechanical bull or reindeer based on guest age, ability, and comfort.

• Assist Riders: Help guests fill out waivers and get safely on and off the bull or reindeer.

You’ll proactively approach guests, help them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and explain the digital and print options that are available. This role includes both indoor and outdoor work, and requires carrying and handling photography gear throughout your shift. Your scheduled shifts WILL vary daily, so flexibility is key!
