Welcome Committee - Bag Check & Employee Check


Santa’s Wonderland is looking for magical Christmas talent to play a role for this holiday season. Santa’s Wonderland is the biggest Christmas attraction in the entire state, and we’re here to create a memory and deliver the “Ultimate Texas Christmas Experience” for our guests! So, come and join this Texas-Sized Christmas celebration and be a part of the biggest Christmas tradition in Texas history!

Applicants must be available from November 13, 2020 through December 30, 2020.
Must be available nights, weekends, and Holidays
Position starts at $13 an hour + Holiday Pay
Role
Our Welcome Committee Bag Check members work in conjunction with our security to help provide a safe and enjoyable time here at Santa’s Wonderland. This team will ask each guest politely to unzip each bag/compartment for a thorough check. Our team members will look for anything prohibited, including sharp objects, weapons, beer, alcohol, or illegal contraband. Once inspected, the guest will step through the metal detector. If a guest has no bag, our team member will politely ask the guest to step through the metal detector. All Welcome Committee team members will welcome guests with a big smile and in a courteous, proper, and efficient manner, as well as follow the directions of and adhere to the rules set forth by management.

Welcome Committee team members may also be stationed at employee entrances to perform employee health checks. Welcome Committee team members will ask each employee politiely to undergo a quick temperature check. All Welcome Comittee team members will welcome employees with a big smile and in a courteous, proper, and efficient manner, as well as follow the directions of and adhere to the rules set forth by management.

Duties

  • Make guest and employee security a top priority.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests and customers in a friendly “Howdy! Merry Texas Christmas, Y’all! Welcome to Santa’s Wonderland!”
  • Make guest service and satisfaction a priority.
  • Provide guests with exceptional service.
  • Provide employees with exceptional service.
  • Able to communicate, which includes but is not limited to, greeting guests and informing guests of park policies/general park information, directing guests to all park locations.
  • Attend, participate, and complete all park-wide orientations
  • Clean the surrounding areas before, during, and after shift is over and returning all items to proper areas. This includes but is not limited to taking out trash, cleaning windows, sweeping, and disposing of prohibited items that were collected throughout their shift.
  • Watch for and recognize security risks, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
  • Enforce any social distancing guidelines in place.

Qualifications
  • Must have 1 Year Experience in a safety/security role
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be friendly and outgoing with high customer service acumen.
  • High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be willing to work in cooler or warmer conditions; Inside or outside.
  • Team oriented with excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand with or without movement for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time, as they may be exposed to rain, sun and high and low temperatures.
  • Must frequently use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; must reach with hands and arms.




Frostbite's Mountain Snow Hill Helper

This position starts at $12 an hour + Holiday Pay
Role
At Frostbite’s Mountain, Santa’s Helpers get to work in the coolest place in the park! You will ensure the line to the Snow Mountain is orderly and moving in a timely manner. You will assist guests getting in and out of the snow tubes, ensure that the attraction area stays clean at all times, and will be responsible for monitoring the condition of the equipment and operation of the attraction at all times. This is to ensure the attraction is operating safely and properly.

Duties

  • Greet all guest with a friendly “Howdy! Merry Texas Christmas, Y’all! Welcome to Santa’s Wonderland!”
  • Provide guests with exceptional service.
  • Make guest safety a priority.
  • Able to communicate, which includes but is not limited to, greeting guests and informing guests of park policies/general park information, directing guests to all park locations.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures in place at Frostbite’s Mountain.
  • Make guest service and satisfaction a priority in every aspect of their job.
  • Attend, participate, and complete all park-wide orientations.
  • Report to work on time and begin to prepare attraction.
  • Clean the attraction and surrounding areas before, during, and after shift is over and returning all items to proper areas. This includes but is not limited to taking out/picking up trash, sweeping, squeegeeing the carpet, organizing and sanitizing the tubes, and keeping the landing deck clean.
  • Assist guests with Snow Tubing. This includes pushing the guest at the top of the lanes, moving tubes at the landing pad, assisting guests out of the tubes, and organizing the line.
  • Watch for and recognize safety risks, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
  • Enforce any social distancing guidelines in place.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs and higher. May frequently assist guests in and out of tubes, and help them slide down the hill.
  • Outgoing/Personable/Friendly/Smile.
  • Possess a high level of awareness. Must be able to multi-task and to act and react quickly.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in hot, cold, and/or wet weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in low light areas.
